Industrial flooring for manufacturing sites

From busy workshops to manufacturing and distribution environments, we assess the existing concrete, site operations and proposed use before recommending a system. The scope can include mechanical preparation, local repairs, moisture control where specified and a suitable resin finish.

Epoxy, MMA and hard-wearing floor finishes

Epoxy resin systems can be considered for many industrial applications; MMA may suit projects with demanding return-to-service programmes. Final suitability depends on substrate conditions, cleaning requirements, traffic, chemical exposure and the manufacturer’s specification.

Concrete preparation before installation

The finished floor depends on its substrate. Our services include shot blasting, diamond grinding, screeding and levelling and epoxy DPM where appropriate.

North West industrial flooring contractors

We discuss projects across Liverpool, Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Chester, Manchester, Warrington and North Wales, with larger projects elsewhere in the UK considered. See our Liverpool industrial flooring service and project examples.

Common questions

What flooring is suitable for a factory?

The right system depends on traffic, chemicals, hygiene requirements, temperature, existing concrete and allowable downtime. We review the project before recommending epoxy, MMA or another specified solution.

Can you prepare the existing concrete floor?

Yes. We offer mechanical diamond grinding, shot blasting and other preparation services as part of a project or as a preparation package.

Do you work in operating warehouses and factories?

We can discuss phased work, access restrictions and the required return-to-service programme during project planning; feasibility depends on site conditions and the chosen system.

Where do you install industrial flooring?

We focus on the North West, including Liverpool, Wirral, Chester, Manchester and surrounding areas, and consider suitable projects further afield.

Resin flooring systems for your production needs

A factory floor needs to suit the work happening above it. Vehicle traffic, machinery, spills and cleaning all affect the choice of finish. We discuss your specific requirements before agreeing the preparation and flooring installation scope.

Start with a clear site assessment

Tell us how the floor is used and where it is worn or damaged. Photos, plans and floor areas help us prepare for a survey. Key points to review include:

  • Vehicle routes and machinery loads
  • Chemicals, heat and wet processing areas
  • Cleaning methods and required surface texture
  • Existing coatings, cracks and joints
  • Shutdown dates and any need for phased access

Floor repairs and preparation before installation

Local floor repairs may form part of the installation package where the substrate assessment supports them. Weak concrete, old coatings and contamination need attention before a new finish is applied. The agreed scope may include grinding, shot blasting, repairs, levelling and moisture-control measures. Structural movement or more extensive damage may require further investigation before coating.

Agree the scope with your facilities team

For refurbishment or new-build work, define who is responsible for clearing the floor, providing access and coordinating adjoining trades. Agree how work areas will be separated and when each area can return to use. Our industrial flooring tender checklist helps organise the enquiry, while our warehouse flooring service covers storage and distribution environments.

Comparing industrial flooring companies

When comparing industrial flooring contractors, check what each quotation includes. Mechanical preparation, removal of existing finishes, substrate repairs, moisture-control layers, resin thickness and joint detailing can change the scope substantially. A price per square metre is most useful when the proposed flooring build-up and exclusions are clear.

Give each contractor the same information about vehicle routes, machinery, chemical exposure, cleaning and the available shutdown window. Ask how access, interfaces and return-to-service requirements will be managed. Product selection and installation conditions should follow the agreed specification and current manufacturer’s guidance.
