Industrial Flooring Tender Checklist for Main Contractors

Clear tender information helps specialist subcontractors assess the work consistently and identify scope gaps before mobilisation.

Important: This is general project-planning guidance. Final materials, preparation and working methods must follow the site conditions, product manufacturer instructions and applicable safety requirements.

Drawings and measured areas

Provide the latest floor plans, marked-up work zones, approximate m², thresholds, falls, drainage and any known slab details. Separate new-build from refurbishment areas.

Performance specification

Set out the proposed floor system or required performance, including traffic, chemicals, hygiene, slip resistance, finish and any manufacturer or client standards.

Existing conditions and surveys

Share available moisture tests, substrate surveys, coating details, contamination reports and repair schedules. State what remains unknown so it can be priced or excluded transparently.

Programme and logistics

Identify possession dates, shutdowns, phased access, work at height or confined-area interfaces, welfare, power, waste arrangements and other trades working nearby.

Health, safety and competence

Confirm the project-specific RAMS, COSHH, insurance, site cards, inductions, supervision and accreditation requirements. Do not assume that every contractor holds every accreditation.

Clarifications and handover

Agree preparation standards, tolerances, exclusions, testing, curing, access restrictions, practical completion criteria and responsibility for any unforeseen substrate defects.
