MMA Flooring for Commercial & Industrial Premises
MMA resin flooring for vehicle depots, workshops and commercial facilities where planned downtime is limited. Specification, ventilation and reopening times are assessed for each site.
MMA flooring for time-critical projects
Methyl methacrylate resin flooring can be considered where a commercial or industrial floor must return to service quickly. Performance and curing depend on the selected manufacturer system, substrate, temperature and installation conditions.
Typical project environments
- Vehicle testing facilities, workshops and depots
- Commercial premises with short planned shutdowns
- Selected industrial refurbishment areas where rapid curing is specified
Preparation and site safety
We assess concrete condition, contamination, moisture and mechanical preparation requirements. MMA installation requires careful ventilation, odour management, exclusion zones and compliance with the manufacturer's safety data and installation instructions.
Tell us the floor area (m²), location, current surface, operational shutdown window and required finish.

Plan the whole shutdown, not just the cure time
Methyl methacrylate floors may be worth assessing when a short working window is important. Fast cure times are one potential benefit of MMA, but preparation, installation controls and handover also take time. We discuss the full programme before agreeing a proposed reopening date.
Choose a finish around the work it needs to support
Vehicle depots, workshops and commercial spaces can have different needs. Traffic, cleaning, surface texture and spill exposure should guide the flooring system. A slip-resistant finish needs to suit the expected conditions and a practical cleaning routine. Chemical resistance should be checked against the proposed product's data and the actual substances, concentrations and contact times.
Assess the concrete before installation
Existing coatings, weak material, contamination and moisture can affect adhesion. The preparation scope may include shot blasting, diamond grinding or local repairs. The substrate and any moisture-control measures need to be compatible with the specified resin build-up.
Agree ventilation, access and working areas
These systems have specific odour and ventilation requirements. Discuss occupied spaces, adjoining operations and air movement before work is planned. Safe segregation and installation arrangements should follow the product safety documentation and site assessment. For food-processing facilities, suitability and separation from production need particular review.
Compare options and project costs
Labour costs depend on preparation, floor area, access, phasing and working hours. Materials, system thickness and the required finish also affect the quotation. Ask for a clear scope rather than comparing a headline price per square metre alone.
Compare epoxy flooring and PU screed where appropriate. The best option should meet the operational requirements and budget as well as the programme. A fast-curing system is not automatically the right choice for every building.
Request a project assessment
Send the area, location and available shutdown dates, with photographs and details of traffic, cleaning and existing finishes. We can discuss the information needed for a survey and a specification. Return-to-service times must follow the chosen manufacturer's instructions and actual installation conditions.

MMA flooring: frequently asked questions
How quickly can an MMA floor return to service?
Return-to-service depends on the exact resin system, temperature, substrate and manufacturer instructions. We confirm the proposed reopening window as part of specification.
Is MMA suitable for occupied buildings?
MMA has specific odour and ventilation requirements. Site access, isolation and health-and-safety arrangements must be assessed before work is agreed.
Can you prepare the concrete first?
We can include suitable shot blasting, grinding and local preparation as part of the flooring package.
MMA flooring in practice
A completed retail entrance project demonstrates how we plan surface preparation, slip resistance and out-of-hours installation.
Share your site location, approximate area (m²), intended use and programme. We can review the requirements and discuss a suitable approach.
Discuss an MMA flooring shutdown →How much does mma resin flooring cost?
£80–£160 per m²Guide range for MMA resin flooring; system and programme requirements affect cost.
Preparation and specification may change the price. Final costs depend on site condition, floor area, required system and thickness, access and programme. Grinding, coating removal, repairs, contamination treatment, DPM and levelling may add to the cost. Small areas may attract a minimum job charge.

Planning your project: four useful questions
What affects the cost of MMA flooring?
Floor area, existing condition, specification, access and programme affect pricing. See the budget guide on this page for the indicative range and exclusions. The written quotation confirms scope and applicable VAT.
What preparation does the floor need?
Preparation, repairs, substrate moisture and compatibility with the specified MMA system need assessment. Ventilation, odour and work-area segregation are part of planning.
How long before the area can be used again?
The selected product, temperature, thickness and intended use determine curing and return-to-service. Foot traffic, vehicle traffic and installation of the next covering may require different allowances; these are agreed for the project.
Is this service suitable for my premises?
MMA may suit projects with restricted shutdown windows, subject to the system, site conditions and safe installation arrangements.
