Industrial PU Screed Flooring Contractors
Polyurethane cement screed systems for demanding factory, food production and industrial environments. We assess substrate preparation, cleaning regimes, traffic, exposure and operational downtime before recommending a system.
PU screed flooring for UK industrial projects
We welcome enquiries from Liverpool, Wirral, Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales and larger projects throughout the UK.
Specifying polyurethane screed flooring
PU screed selection starts with how the floor will be used. Vehicle movements, dropped tools, hot washing, cleaning chemicals and prolonged wet conditions can place different demands on a flooring system. Tell us about your production process and cleaning routine so the proposed finish can be assessed against the actual working environment.
System thickness, surface texture and detailing should follow the selected manufacturer’s specification. A heavily textured finish may improve grip in particular conditions but can also require more intensive cleaning. The balance between slip resistance and cleanability should be agreed before installation, particularly around entrances, wash areas and production equipment.
Preparation includes assessing the existing concrete, removing unsuitable coatings or contamination and providing the surface profile required by the chosen system. Existing joints, drainage channels, perimeter details and transitions to adjacent floors also need consideration. A coating should not be expected to conceal ongoing structural movement or compensate for an unsuitable substrate.
For a quotation, send the site location, approximate area, photographs, current floor condition and available shutdown window. Include details of drainage, access restrictions and any temperature or chemical exposure. These details help establish what needs checking during a site visit and whether a phased installation could suit the operation.
PU screed for food factories, washdown areas and demanding industrial floors
Polyurethane cement screed can be considered for food processing, commercial kitchens, production facilities and industrial environments where cleaning regimes, wet conditions or temperature changes make flooring selection important. The exact system must be selected against the manufacturer's data for the intended exposure, substrate and operating conditions.
What to establish before specifying PU screed
Confirm whether the area experiences hot-water washdown, standing water, cleaning chemicals, wheeled traffic, impact, temperature cycling or frequent changes between wet and dry conditions. Drainage details, falls, coving, movement joints and the existing concrete condition also affect the installation design.
For food and beverage premises, see our food factory flooring guidance. If epoxy, MMA or another resin system may be more suitable, explore our epoxy flooring and MMA flooring services. Request a site assessment with the floor area, location, intended use and available shutdown period.
How much does high-performance polyurethane flooring cost?
£70–£150 per m²Guide range for high-performance PU systems; the screed build-up is specified for the site.
Preparation and specification may change the price. Final costs depend on site condition, floor area, required system and thickness, access and programme. Grinding, coating removal, repairs, contamination treatment, DPM and levelling may add to the cost. Small areas may attract a minimum job charge.

Planning your project: four useful questions
What affects the cost of PU screed flooring?
Floor area, existing condition, specification, access and programme affect pricing. See the budget guide on this page for the indicative range and exclusions. The written quotation confirms scope and applicable VAT.
What preparation does the floor need?
Concrete preparation, repairs, joints, drainage and perimeter details need assessment against the selected PU screed specification.
How long before the area can be used again?
The selected product, temperature, thickness and intended use determine curing and return-to-service. Foot traffic, vehicle traffic and installation of the next covering may require different allowances; these are agreed for the project.
Is this service suitable for my premises?
PU cement screed can be considered for demanding production and washdown areas, with thickness, heat, chemicals and cleaning requirements checked against product data.
