Epoxy DPM
Moisture-control systems used as part of correctly specified commercial flooring preparation.
Epoxy DPM for commercial environments
Commercial Coatings NW provides epoxy dpm as part of commercial and industrial flooring projects. The correct process depends on the substrate, contamination, moisture, traffic, operational environment and required finish.
Preparation comes first
Where required, the preparation process can include diamond grinding, shot blasting, levelling and moisture-control systems before the specified flooring system is installed.
Send the site location, approximate m², photographs and any plans or specification documents to enquiries@commercialcoatings.co.site.
Areas covered
We handle enquiries across Liverpool, Wirral, Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales and the wider North West, with larger commercial projects considered throughout the UK.
Epoxy DPM Application
Epoxy damp proof membrane being applied across prepared floor areas.

Moisture testing and flooring compatibility
An epoxy damp proof membrane should be selected from evidence about the substrate and the requirements of the complete flooring build-up. The age of the concrete alone does not establish whether it is ready to receive a moisture-sensitive finish. Suitable moisture testing and an assessment of the existing construction help inform the specification.
Before application, the surface must be prepared to the selected product’s requirements. Weak material, contamination and incompatible residues can affect adhesion. Surface profile, substrate condition, application temperature and curing conditions all need checking against the current manufacturer’s technical data.
The DPM, primer, smoothing compound and final floor finish must be compatible. Some build-ups require a particular primer or aggregate treatment between layers; these details should be specified for the actual products used. A surface DPM is not a universal remedy for water ingress or hydrostatic pressure.
When enquiring, tell us what finish will be installed above the membrane and whether moisture readings or construction details are available. Photographs, approximate floor area and the project programme help us plan the assessment.
How much does an epoxy damp-proof membrane cost?
£10–£20 per m²Published UK supply-and-application allowance for a surface epoxy damp-proof membrane over a suitably prepared substrate.
What may change the price? The product and required coats are specified for the floor. Moisture testing, grinding, repairs, primers and subsequent levelling may add to the cost. Small areas may attract a minimum job charge.

Planning your project: four useful questions
What affects the cost of epoxy DPM installation?
Floor area, existing condition, specification, access and programme affect pricing. See the budget guide on this page for the indicative range and exclusions. The written quotation confirms scope and applicable VAT.
What preparation does the floor need?
Moisture assessment, substrate condition and compatibility with the next layers determine the specification. The surface must meet the chosen product’s preparation requirements.
How long before the area can be used again?
The selected product, temperature, thickness and intended use determine curing and return-to-service. Foot traffic, vehicle traffic and installation of the next covering may require different allowances; these are agreed for the project.
Is this service suitable for my premises?
A surface epoxy DPM can control moisture within a suitable floor build-up. It is not a universal remedy for water ingress or hydrostatic pressure.
See our Warrington project including epoxy DPM for a real example. Your floor still needs its own assessment.
