Commercial Screeding & Floor Levelling
Commercial floor screeding, bagged cementitious levelling compounds and mechanical preparation for industrial and commercial projects.
Bagged self-levelling screeds, pumped on site
For larger commercial floors, we use our own continuous mixing and pumping equipment to apply suitable bagged cementitious smoothing and levelling compounds. This is not wagon-delivered liquid screed.
We can combine substrate preparation, priming where specified, levelling and subsequent resin flooring preparation as part of a coordinated package.

Commercial Coatings NW provides screeding & levelling as part of commercial and industrial flooring projects. The correct process depends on the substrate, contamination, moisture, traffic, operational environment and required finish.
Preparation comes first
Where required, the preparation process can include diamond grinding, shot blasting, levelling and moisture-control systems before the specified flooring system is installed.
Send the site location, approximate m², photographs and any plans or specification documents to enquiries@commercialcoatings.co.site.
Areas covered
We handle enquiries across Liverpool, Wirral, Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales and the wider North West, with larger commercial projects considered throughout the UK.
Screeding & Floor Levelling
Examples of completed screeding and floor levelling installations. Screed depth, drying time and suitability depend on the selected product, substrate and project specification.

Floor screeding and levelling for larger commercial areas
The purpose of levelling is to create a suitable surface for the intended floor finish, not to conceal movement, moisture or structural defects.
Survey the substrate before levelling
The existing slab or board substrate should be assessed for strength, movement, moisture, contamination and the required floor tolerance. The primer, screed and finish must be compatible with the substrate and each other.
- Existing floor construction and condition
- Required thickness and tolerances
- Floor loading and traffic requirements
- Moisture condition and drying programme
- Access, pumping and working-area restrictions
Pumped screeds and self-levelling systems
Pumped systems can be useful on larger accessible commercial floors. Product selection and achievable thickness depend on the application and manufacturer requirements; cure and covering times must not be assumed.
Working with other trades
Screeding should be coordinated with substrate preparation, moisture-control works and the final flooring contractor. Clearly agreed tolerances and handover criteria help reduce disputes and rework.

1,800 m² Fibre-Reinforced Pumped Screed in London
A 1,800 m² London shop floor project: grinding, priming and fibre-reinforced pumped screed installation, completed on 24 October 2026.
View project photos →How much does floor levelling at 10 mm cost?
£25–£40 per m²CCNW budget allowance for supply and installation of a suitable bagged levelling compound at an average depth of 10 mm over a suitable substrate.
What may change the price? Depth, product, area and access affect the allowance. Grinding, repairs, contamination treatment, DPM and final floor coverings are priced separately. Small areas may attract a minimum job charge.
These figures are for initial budgeting. Your written quotation will confirm the agreed scope, inclusions, exclusions and applicable VAT. VAT treatment varies between published guides.

Planning your project: four useful questions
What affects the cost of commercial floor levelling?
Floor area, existing condition, specification, access and programme affect pricing. See the budget guide on this page for the indicative range and exclusions. The written quotation confirms scope and applicable VAT.
What preparation does the floor need?
Check substrate strength, moisture, movement and existing levels. Preparation, primer and any DPM must be compatible with the selected compound and final floor finish.
How long before the area can be used again?
The selected product, temperature, thickness and intended use determine curing and return-to-service. Foot traffic, vehicle traffic and installation of the next covering may require different allowances; these are agreed for the project.
Is this service suitable for my premises?
Bagged levelling compounds can prepare suitable floors for specified coverings. Product selection depends on depth, substrate, loading and final finish.
See our 1,800 m² London fibre-reinforced screed project for a real example. Your floor still needs its own assessment.
